Op 22 september gaan wereldwijd websites van burgerbewegingen en NGO's op zwart. Uit protest en solidariteit. Protest tegen de afnemende mogelijkheden om als actieve burger of organisatie je stem te laten horen, je te verenigen of vreedzaam te betogen.

Atradius Dutch State Business (Atradius DSB) is ook na het afgeven van hun exportkrediet- verzekeringen nog verantwoordelijk voor het naleven van sociale, milieu- en mensenrechten door hun klanten. Dat blijkt uit een vandaag gelanceerd rapport van het Nederlandse Nationaal Contactpunt OESO-richtlijnen (NCP). Both ENDS stuurde hierover vandaag een persbericht uit.

Van 21 t/m 24 november reist een Nederlandse economische handelsmissie naar Indonesië, onder leiding van minister-president Mark Rutte. Ook de ministers Ploumen (Buitenlandse Handel en Ontwikkelingssamenwerking), Schultz van Haegen (Infrastructuur en Milieu) en staatssecretaris Dijksma (Infrastructuur en Milieu) gaan mee. 

Deze week is Laura Zuniga Cáceres, de dochter van Berta Cáceres*, op bezoek in Nederland. Ze zal gaan praten met de directeuren van de betrokken departementen van Buitenlandse Zaken, nam deel aan een colloquium over inheemse rechten van de Universiteit Leiden en ontmoette verschillende Nederlandse organisaties. Both ENDS sprak deze moedige jonge vrouw over de situatie in Honduras en haar motivatie om haar moeders strijd voort te zetten.

De toestemming van de inheemse bevolking voor de aanleg van het omstreden Nicaraguakanaal is bedrog. Uit getuigenissen van de Rama en Kriol-bevolking blijkt dat het consultatieproces met de Rama en Kriol gemanipuleerd is, en hun toestemming ongeldig.
