Both ENDS
Grootschalige infrastructuur heeft ter plekke negatieve effecten voor mens en milieu, terwijl de baten elders terechtkomen. Both ENDS zet zich in voor inspraak voor de lokale bevolking en onderzoekt de geldstromen achter deze projecten.
Lokale organisaties en groepen moeten toegang krijgen tot klimaatfinanciering uit het Green Climate Fund. Zij weten precies wat er in hun lokale context speelt en nodig is voor klimaatadaptatie.
Globally, the area that is suffering desertification and land degradation is ever expanding. Unsustainable and often large-scale agricultural practices, including the copious use of pesticides and fertilizers, are a major driver of land degradation, aprocess that is further exacerbated by climate change, causing more erratic rainfall patterns, longer periods of drought and unpredictable growing seasons. This is very problematic not only for the hundreds of millions of people who directly depend on land and water for their livelihoods, but also for life on earth as a whole. It is clear that this process must be stopped and reversed, better sooner than later. But how to go about it?
Doel van het JWH-initiatief is het leiderschap van jongeren in milieuorganisaties te stimuleren via kleine persoonlijke beurzen om hun kennis, ervaring en opleiding te vergroten.
Bijna veertig maatschappelijke organisaties en netwerken uit de hele wereld, waaronder Both ENDS, stuurden vandaag een brief aan minister Kaag van Buitenlandse Handel en Ontwikkelingssamenwerking en staatssecretaris Vijlbrief van Financiën. Ze vragen de bewindslieden ervoor te zorgen dat de verruiming van de exportkredietverzekering vanwege de coronacrisis, bijdraagt aan groen herstel.
