From Policy To Practice: Funding Locally-led Gender-Just Climate Action

A discussion on the intersection of climate and gender justice - specifically on financing mechanisms for gender-just climate solutions!

Join us for the Global Alliance for Green and Gender Action (GAGGA) Side Event in co-sponsorship with Global Affairs Canada at the 68th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) and the launch of the first peak of the We Women Are Water Campaign for 2024!

We will discuss the intersection of climate and gender justice - specifically on financing mechanisms for gender-just climate solutions. We will hear from Women Environmental Human Rights Defenders and the people who support them, such as philanthropic and bilateral funders on:

  • false climate solutions and extractive activities impacting their work;
  • why climate finance actors such as governments and philanthropic donors need to invest in the transformative locally-led gender-just climate actions they are leading; and
  • what kind of financial/funding mechanisms are already in place to do so
