Soy - Big business, big responsibility: Addressing the social- and environmental impact of the soy value chain

To satisfy the growing demand for soy, large scale deforestation is taking place in Latin America and small farmers' land are being transformed into large soy plantations. Key words in the publication are: land conflicts, genetic manipulation, modern slavery, pollution, deforestation, increasing unemployment and decreasing biodiversity. Aside from an analysis of the aforementioned, the report also delves into the relationship with the Netherlands and Europe and what can be done in countries that produce or import soy.

Soy - Big business, big responsibility. Addressing the social- and environmental impact of the soy value chain is a publication by the Dutch Soy Coalition; an alliance between Both ENDS, Cordaid, FairFood, Greenpeace NL, Kerkinactie, Milieudefensie, ICCO, IUCN-NL and Solidaridad. The Soy Coalition is demanding that all relevant players contribute to counteracting the negative impacts of increasing soy production.
