HR Advisor (interim / 6 months / 16-24 hours)

Both ENDS is an environmental justice mobiliser, combining advocacy and policy expertise to transform unjust systems worldwide, while strengthening the power of civil society to lead this change. From advocacy to implementation, Both ENDS transforms systems that profoundly impact people and our planet, including trade, finance, and beyond. In collaboration with a 500+ partner network across Latin America, Africa, and Asia, Both ENDS connects local voices to global decision-makers to build new systems that prioritise environmental integrity and community livelihoods. We are an internationally oriented organisation based in Utrecht, the Netherlands. With a team of around 25 people, we work in a self-organised way - valuing decentralised decision-making, individual ownership and leadership, and an open feedback culture. What you will do
You will be our all-round HR Advisor, responsible for HR administration, HR processes and HR related policies. As HR Advisor, you are the central point of contact for all questions regarding HR. In doing so, you work closely with the capacity coordinator, team coordinators and director. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining the HR administration;
- Effectively implementing HR processes;
- Monitoring, implementing and promoting core values captured in key policies, such as the HR policy, integrity policy, and Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion policy;
- Informing, supporting and coaching colleagues on HR matters;
- Advising the teamcoordinators and director on personnel matters;
- Monitoring organisation-wide and personal development plans;
- Maintaining contact with various relevant external parties (e.g. health and safety service, payroll administration, pension fund).
What you bring
We are looking for someone who feels at home in an international and informal organisation with the following profile:
- Affinity with the mission of Both ENDS;
- Open, proactive, reflective, pragmatic and structured mindset;
- Experience with HR processes and policies, and knowing how to translate them into appropriate, actionable results or solutions ranging from administrative to strategic matters;
- Experience with informing, advising, supporting and coaching colleagues from an HR perspective;
- Experience with working in NGOs, project-oriented organisations and preferably also with self-organising teams;
- Experience with Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion from an HR perspective;
- Experience with intercultural communication from an HR perspective;
- Preferably experience with AFAS;
- Excellent command of the English language and a minimum B1 level of proficiency in Dutch;
- At minimum HBO working and thinking level.

What Both ENDS offers
- A varied role in an informal, international working environment in Utrecht.
- Interim six-month contract for 16-24 hours per week. The position can be filled through a labour or freelance contract.
- Gross salary between EUR 3.399,- and EUR 5.478,- (based on a work week of 38 hours, depending on education and experience).
- Strong secondary benefits, including a contribution-free pension, full reimbursement of commuting costs, and a home working allowance.
