EXTRA

JJS, with its main base in Khulna, is an environmental and social development organisation working in the South-West coastal region of Bangladesh dealing with pro-poor issues. From its foundation in 1985, JJS continuously has been trying to address the contemporary poverty discourse of the country on a regional level and has been working on the implementation of different strategies to reduce poverty. The organisation also includes civil society and other social actors to work together on programmes. JJS is always trying to perceive development from a human rights point of view and questions all development philosophies or approaches within the light of ethnic diversity, culture, practice and values existent in Bangladesh.
